Senior Tester

We have a requirement for a Senior Tester for Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT).

Mandatory Requirements:

• Government of Canada (SECRET) or higher
  
• Graduated from a two year (as a minimum) post-secondary education program in computer science or an Information Technology (IT) related discipline or one (1) year post secondary education in computer science/IT related discipline and four (4) years experience in an IT environment.
  
• 10 years experience in the Information Technology industry within the past 15 years.
  
• Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the last ten (10) years in an engineering and/or operational role related to Microsoft Exchange running in a nationally or globally distributed enterprise network.
  Role(s) must involve two (2) or more of the following tasks …
  • Architecting,
  • Designing,
  • Integrating ,
  • Installing
  • Configuring
• At least one (1) year of demonstrated experience in the last ten (10) years in…
  • developing test plans/test cases and
  • executing test scenarios and
  • documenting results
  
• Two (2) years of demonstrated experience in the last five (5) years in an engineering and/or operational role related to RIM’ BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server).
  Role(s) must involve two (2) or more of the following tasks …
  • Architecting,
  • Designing,
  • Integrating ,
  • Installing,
  • Configuring.
  
• Must provide at least two (2) references from recent (within the past 5 years) and related projects that can validate the knowledge and experience of the proposed resource. Information must include Organization, contact name, contact number, contact fax number, e-mail address, a description of the projects and the date and duration of the contract.

Rated Requirements:

• Government of Canada (SECRET) or higher
  
• Experience in developing test plans/test cases and executing test scenarios and documenting results
  
• Participated in the engineering and/or operational role of a provincially, nationally or globally distributed Microsoft Exchange Electronic Messaging system of at least 2,000 seats.
  
• Participated in the engineering and/or operational role of a Blackberry Enterprise Server system.
  
• Experience in change management and configuration management.
  
• Experience in a Quality Assurance role in the Information Technology industry.
  Experience is defined as: the number of years during which the proposed resourced performed at least one of the following tasks within the above role.
  • Establish and/or responsible for processes and procedures for integration testing, including the verification and validation of software installation & functional compliance.
  • Provide advice, guidance and coordination efforts for test strategies, test suites and test plans.
  
• Experience with the Opentext/Hummingbird eDOCS DM 5.x product
  
• Experience in developing use Cases and UML diagrams or utilizing both to develop test cases.
  
• Experience in using Microsoft Source Safe to manage software releases and/or configurable items.
