We have a requirement for a Application/Software Architect at Health Canada.
Mandatory Requirements:
- (5) years experience within the past seven (7) years with development or technical analysis of enterprise-level systems in each of the following areas:
• N-Tier Service oriented application architecture
• Java or object oriented language
• Business Intelligence toolset
• Oracle 9i (or higher) environment
• Web-based or E-submission application - One (1) project experience in developing or designing an IT enterprise level solution using N-tier service oriented architecture, within the past three (3) years.
The experience must address the following criteria:
a) The scope, environment and complexity of the referenced project closely relates to those of this project.
b) The similarity in the role played in the referenced project to the role required in this project.
c) The technical environment is similar in the referenced project.
- Experience in providing advice on the application of enterprise architectural vision to common components (shared services, data model/entities)
- Experience in developing technical architectures, frameworks and strategies for a major application area, to meet the business and application requirements of a business line
- Experience in analyzing functional requirements and alternative technology solutions to meet business problems, and preparing technical gap analysis, feasibility, and costs of the options identified
- Experience in the development of implementation and support strategies for recommended IT solutions; procurement of COTS; migration of information to new applications; and input and review of business cases for implementation of IT Solutions
- Hands-on experience in Oracle 10g (or higher) back-end database environment
- Hands-on experience with architecting large* complex systems using SOA
- Hands-on experience with Java or another object oriented language
- Hands-on experience with a Business Intelligence toolset, such as IBM Cognos, SAP Crystal Reports, Oracle Discoverer etc.
- Knowledge of and proven hands-on experience implementing SCRUM or Feature Driven Development (FDD) Agile methods within an organization.
