We have a requirement for a Senior Project Manager for one of our Federal Government clients.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Recognized university degree in Project Management (Masters in Project Management) or a current certified designation in project management (example: PMP from PMI).
- 5-10 years of experience in providing advice & expertise in the form of briefings, presentations, written reports, options and recommendations to senior management regarding the status of the project to resolve issues.
- 5-10 years of experience managing and delivering large-scale IM/IT projects defined as having a minimum annual budget of $4M with a minimum of 150 person hours per year.
- 5-10 years of experience working with cross functional experts in an IT organization to deliver projects with multiple releases on time within scope and budget.
- 5-10 years of experience preparing detailed work plans for the project deliverables and taking corrective actions to ensure deadlines are met.
- experience in the assessment and / or review of large scale projects, including assessment and management of risk, within the last 5-10 years.
- Define and document the IMSD objectives for the project; determine budgetary requirements if required, the composition, roles and responsibilities for the project team.
- Meet in conference with stakeholders and other project managers and states problems in a form capable of being solved.
- Formulate statements of problems; establishes procedures for the development and implementation of significant, new or modified project elements to solve these problems, and obtain approval thereof.
- Prepare plans, charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing or displaying problems; work with a variety of project management tools.
- Manage several Project Managers / leaders in a matrix environment, each responsible for an element of the project and its associated project team.
- Manage the project during the development, implementation and operations start-up by ensuring that resources are made available and that the project is developed and is operational within previously agreed time, cost and performance parameters.
- Report progress of the project on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle.
- Reviews and maintains project risk log and prepares mitigation strategies for action as necessary.
- Identify issues and options, recommend and take correction action as necessary to meet agreed-upon time, cost and performance expectations.
- Develop/prepare a transition plan. This includes knowledge transfer, transitioning open project issues that are material in the operational world, organizing and archiving project documentation appropriately to facilitate access by the operational team.
- Log / conduct an effective "lessons learned" session at the end of the project
- Obtain project sign-off from client organization.
