System Administrator (Unix/Linux)

We have a requirement for a System Administrator (Unix/Linux) for one of our Federal Government clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience demonstrated experience wihtin the last 8 years as a Unix/Linux System Administrator
  • Completion of Unix System Administrator certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of combined demonstrated experience within the last 5 years in configuring, setting up and maintaining a distributed client/server application running over Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in a router based network environment
  • Minimum of 2 years combined experience within the last 8 years in working as a Unix/Linux System Administrator in a PeopleSoft Internet Architecture environment
  • Should have:
  1. Demonstrated experience working with networking devices (switches, routers, firewall appliances, etc).
  2. Demonstrated experience in set up and configuration of High Availability Cluster servers.
  3. Experience in planning, configuring, and managing disk storage requirements for Unix/Linux server including the administration of the file system using market available Disk Volume Management software.
  4. Demonstrated working experience in installing and upgrading patches of Unix/Linux OS and Oracle/ PeopleTools software.
  5. Demonstrated experience working with virtualization technologies such as VM Ware (ESX Server) or XEN
  6. Demonstrated experience in developing Linux/Unix scripts.

Duration: 6 months plus 3 additional option periods of 6 months
